Madeira is gearing up to host the 8th edition of the Ultra Madeira, one of the most challenging and iconic trail running events in the world, organized by ARAM – the Athletics Association of the Autonomous Region of Madeira. On October 5th and 6th, 2024, the first race of the “Madeira Trail Circuit” for the 2024-2025 season will take place, where runners from across the globe will test their limits on the island’s mountainous trails, in a setting where breathtaking nature and physical endurance find perfect harmony.

Ultra Madeira offers participants the opportunity to experience Madeira in a unique and unforgettable way. With courses that traverse rugged mountains, lush forests, and majestic peaks, this event is not just a competition but a true journey of self-discovery and personal achievement.
Competition Details
Ultra Madeira 2024 will consist of several races, each with characteristics and distances that challenge different levels of skill and experience.
Participants can choose from:
ULTRA MADEIRA: 83 km with 3810 meters of positive elevation gain (linear format)
ULTRA 50K: 50 km with 2000 meters of positive elevation gain (linear format)
TRAIL 30K: 30 km with 1360 meters of positive elevation gain (linear format)
TRAIL 15K: 15 km with 340 meters of positive elevation gain (linear format)
MINI TRAIL: 8 km with 290 meters of positive elevation gain (linear format)
To participate in the event, athletes must be within one of the following categories:
ULTRA MADEIRA: Seniors or Veterans (≥20 years);
ULTRA 50K: Seniors or Veterans (≥20 years);
TRAIL 30K: Seniors or Veterans (≥20 years);
TRAIL 15K: Youths, Juniors, Seniors, or Veterans (≥16 years);
MINI TRAIL: Youths, Juniors, Seniors, or Veterans (≥16 years).
